FAQ

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions
Are you attending or camping for the first time? Great! We want you to have an excellent experience at our Festival. Please read on to learn lots of insider information about Eaglewood.

Q. How do I buy tickets?  What do they cost?
A. All ticket prices are on the website: http://www.eaglewoodfolk.com/festival/tickets/ Buy early and save money. Early Bird tickets are on sale until July 15th online and at the ticket vendors listed. Advanced tickets are on sale from July 16th until August 23rd, the day before the Festival. Camping tickets must be purchased on site at the front gate. Camping prices are also listed on the website under the Festival tab.

Q. What should I bring to the Festival to make my visit more enjoyable?
A. Bring items suitable for an outdoor event: collapsible lawn chair or picnic blanket, sun hat, sun screen lotion, cooler for your choice of beverage, money to spend at the food vendors and artisans booths, your musical instrument so you can join in at the Open Stage and jams, flashlight for walking trails after dusk, jacket or sweater for evenings, umbrella or rain wear.

Q. Where do I park?  How much does parking cost?
A. Festival parking is on-site and FREE. The whole front field is designated for parking. You may access your vehicle anytime during your stay at the Festival. Campers are asked to unload their vehicles at their campsite and park them in the general parking area. We do not want vehicles parked back at the campsites in case emergency vehicles (police/fire/ambulance) need to get through.  Fewer cars in the camping areas mean more space for tents, campfires and people.

Q. What happens if it rains?
A. No one can predict the weather accurately so you should always be prepared for any weather scenario, whether camping or not. Generally, a little rain never hurts the Festival or the fun. The entertainment always goes on. Tents and tarpaulins are erected near the stages and vendor area to provide shelter to audiences from sun and rain.

Q. Is there a beer tent or opportunity to buy liquor/beer/wine on-site?
A. No. The Festival has never had a license to sell alcoholic beverages and we like it this way. You may bring your own cooler and choice of beverages and drink them discreetly. Refills can be bought at the local LCBO in Pefferlaw just down the road. This is a family event and drunk and disorderly behaviour is not tolerated; we are guests attending a festival on private property. Water is free and food vendors sell soft drinks, juices, coffee, tea, etc.

Q. Will my kids be safe at the Eaglewood Festival site?
A. Eaglewood loves kids – that’s why the Festival is so family friendly. However, there are enough hazards on the large property for a kid to get into trouble without supervision. So please, be the responsible adult your child needs.  We have lots of activities geared to children.  Your kids will enjoy the playground beside the main house (Jackie Washington) stage. There are pony rides, programmed children’s activities, entertainment and parade, interactive workshops, guided nature walks, swimming pond, petting zoo; lots of things for families with children to do.

Q. Are dogs allowed?
A. Yes. Dogs are treated like children at the Festival. You are responsible for them; they must be picked up after and kept on leash at all times. Admission fee of $5 per day must be paid for each dog.

Q. Can I smoke?
A. Yes, but you must be responsible for your butts and garbage. There are waterfowl and animals that may eat what you leave behind and get sick. Please be respectful.  Do your part to keep the site clean by using the on-site waste and recycling containers.

Q. Is there Internet connectivity?
A. No. Leave your computer at home. This is an outdoor, get-close-to-nature kind of event with lots to do. Enjoy your time on the wooded trails, breathe the fresh air, feel the good vibes and enjoy the great music.

Q. I want to camp at the Festival but want to get restful sleep. Where should I camp?
A. Most campers are very respectful of other campers. After hours campfire song circles do go through the night in the larger group camping areas, generally in “C”, “D” and “E”. There are many private spots away from other campers that you can set-up.  Please do not camp near the stages.

Q. Can I camp in my RV?
A. Yes. But there are no services or hook-ups – just rough camping. To manipulate a large RV into a parking spot, you must arrive before 2:00pm on Friday and be directed to a designated camping area for large vehicles.  Once parked, you must remain until you depart on Monday morning.  It is best to phone before you arrive. Please call 905-715-2685.

Q. Can I ride my bicycle?
A. Yes, bikes are welcomed at the Festival but treated like cars – they can injure pedestrians. Bikes are not allowed in certain areas: around the stages or food vendors and artisan village, wherever most people gather. Designated bike parking areas will be available.

Q. Can I leave the Festival site and come back in?
A. Yes. All Festival attendees are given a wrist band which depicts the ticket they have purchased.  You may come and go; just show your wrist band upon re-entry at the gate.

Q. How do I get to the Belvedere jam on Saturday night?
A. The Belvedere is only a few kilometres away. The jam starts around midnight on Saturday night and ends around 2:00am. All festival goers are welcomed to attend. A complimentary bus shuttle will leave the general parking lot around 11:45pm and return around 2:15am. Or, you can drive your own vehicle, carpool or walk.

Q. What else is there to do in the area?
A. Lots! One of the best beaches on Lake Simcoe is just 5 minutes away by car. Two rivers and several conservation areas are very close by. Pefferlaw is a quaint historical town and worth exploring. For greater shopping opportunities, Sutton is only 10 minutes away by car. Be sure to enjoy all the Eaglewood property has to offer…walking trails, kids playground, petting zoo, horseback riding, swimming pond, a stocked fishing pond (catch and release).  Find the campfires with the song circles and join in. Get acquainted with other Festival goers.

Q. I am physically challenged. What can I expect at the Festival?
A. You will see folks of all ages in wheelchairs, walkers and scooters. Some patrons will have attendants (admitted free). Some sight-impaired patrons attend with their guide dogs and have access to a Braille program. The Festival site is fully wheelchair accessible, including washrooms and cabins – see http://www.eaglewoodfolk.com/information/accessibility/ and Eaglewood Resort and Nature Park website: http://www.eaglewood.on.ca/
