About Us

A great Canadian summer music experience occurs every August in Pefferlaw (Georgina). On the fourth weekend of August, over 1500 gather annually to participate in the Eaglewood Folk Festival, a three-day celebration of diverse and original folk/roots music. A mix of established singer songwriters and new, young talent, creating truly authentic music, in an intimate woodland setting. Discover the Eaglewood experience…all ages, all inclusive, appealing to hippy and hipster, ultra-relaxed…it’s what makes this such a remarkable festival.

Past/Present
Eaglewood started as a labour of love and a vision brought to fruition with much time and devotion.  In 1989, Cheryl Gaudet stood on the new deck of the main house at Eaglewood Resort and imagined hundreds of people gathered from all walks of life. In her mind she heard wonderful music, smelled delicious food and saw artisans selling their wares and campfires at night. It would be a musician’s festival dream come true; home cooked food, comfortable places to sleep and lots of opportunity to play with other great songwriters. With help from her partner Joe Ross, the festival became a reality under the name  “Eaglewood Earth Festival”.  The event was privately produced, with assistance from not-for-profit organizations, until not-for-profit status was granted to Eaglewood Earth Festival Inc. in March of 1993.

Over the years, the festival has evolved to become the “Eaglewood Folk Festival” to accurately reflect it’s promotion of folk/roots music; to presently include endorsing the creativity and diversity of Native culture, accessibility, health & wellness and environmental concerns; a celebration featuring workshops and concerts given by various artists from differing folk/roots music genres.

Organizational Profile
The Eaglewood Folk Festival is a non-profit volunteer based community organization administered by a board of directors, an artistic director and a dedicated group of amazing volunteers.
