This is the next generation of folk, showing their chops independently and with amazing talent. The son of a folk legend and the daughter of a comic genius, Ben and Suzy have great genes and they'll prove it at Eaglewood. www.myspace.com/flashlightradio In 2009, Flashlight Radio appeared in After Jackie Washington retired at last year's festival, we wanted to make sure that we brought someone in to fill the Scarlett, Washington & Whiteley shoes. Flashlight Radio burst on to the music scene a short year ago when two childhood friends reunited. Suzy Wilde and Ben Whiteley grew up playing tag together backstage at folk festivals while their parents Nancy White and Ken Whiteley, performed. They have combined their folky roots with an indie rock influence that was developed growing up in downtown Toronto.
What sets Flashlight Radio apart are songs that combine insightful lyrics, powerful music and beautiful melodies that compel the listener to sing along. With their self-titled debut recording just out, Flashlight Radio is armed with goods to make waves in the music world.
