We'll Miss You Jackie Washington
It is with sadness and wishes for safe travels that we acknowledge the passing of our dear friend, Jackie Washington. Jackie was a mainstay at the Eaglewood Folk Festival, with his partners in song, Ken Whiteley & Mose Scarlett. Always quick with a song, a story or a laugh and always with a twinkle in his youthful eyes, Jackie brought joy, continuity and a link to days gone by.

Dr. Jackie Washington passed away peacefully, surrounded by friends and family, on June 27, 2009. Jackie was not going to be playing Eaglewood this year. In his own words, his hands just weren't what they used to be. Those of us who made it to Jackie's retirement party at last year's Eaglewood are enriched by a beautiful last "Jackie at Eaglewood" memory. Look for a "Let's Remember Jackie" workshop at this year's Eaglewood. In the meantime, picture Dr. Jackie walking around up there with a spring in his step, a guitar strapped around his shoulder and friends who went before welcoming him with open arms and chocolate cake. We'll miss you Jackie.
There a lots of photos posted on Ron Scheffler's site of the June 3rd Celebration where the above picture to was taken.
Carry on to the main Eaglewood site here.
